Nandini is principal consultant at the Confederation of Indian Industry, and has a doctorate in atmospheric chemistry and a master’s degree in environmental chemistry. At the CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development, she initiated work in circular economy and resource efficiency, and has led this activity for over seven years now.
At the Centre, this team works at the interface of policy, business and science, with the aim of providing data-backed scientific evidence for business and policy decisions. The India Plastics Pact, launched on the 3rd of September, is the portfolio's most exciting, current venture. It focuses on identifying gaps, challenges and solutions in the plastic packaging value chain which helps to enable a dynamic and ambitious EPR policy.
Before joining CII, she was a faculty member and researcher at TERI University, New Delhi, for over a decade, and was a Fulbright scholar in 2012 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, pursuing a keen interest and belief in systems thinking and system dynamics.
